Prof. Prasannajit Mishra graduated from Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology. He has obtained Post Graduate and Ph.D. degrees in Agronomy discipline from Institute of Agricultural Sciences, B.H.U, Varanasi. He has served in Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology in the cadre of Junior Scientist, Senior Scientist, Professor in various research projects since 1994 viz. Integrated Watershed Development Project, All India Coordinated Research Projects on Oilseeds, Sugarcane, Integrated Farming Systems, Dry land Agriculture, Agroforestry. Presently He is working as Dean, College of Agriculture, OUAT, Bhubaneswar.
He previously served as Dean of Extension Education and Director of Polytechnic, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, as well as Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Nayagarh. He has vast experience in Rainfed Farming, Watershed Management, Agroforestry, Integrated Farming System, Weed Management etc. He is a gold medallist from B.H.U. Varanasi. He has attended more than 65 national and international seminars, symposiums etc. He has undergone an international training at ICRAF (World Agroforestry Centre) Nairobi, Kenya and also attended Workshop in Norwegian Institute of Bio-economy Research (NIBIO), Oslo, Norway. He has to his credit of more than 80 research articles in national and international journals, about 90 research articles published in seminar/symposium souvenirs, more than 50 popular articles published in magazines, newspapers, eight book chapters and two books.
He is also life member of 10 professional societies and also member of several committees of OUAT and state agricultural department of Odisha. Prof. Mishra has also guided 14 PG students and act as external examiner for M.Sc. and Ph.D. viva voice and selection of Asst. Prof. and Assoc. Prof. of four universities of India
