Dr. V. V. SADAMATE (DOB,1st June,1953), is an Eminent Agricultural Extension Specialist & Former Adviser Agriculture, Planning Commission, GOI. Graduated from Pune Agriculture College (1973) and Masters / PhD in Agricultural Extension from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi in 1975 &1979 respectively.
Worked with ICAR as Junior Scientist (1978-1982) & with the Ministry of Agriculture (1982- 2005) in various capacities including Director and Additional Commissioner (Extension) before joining Planning Commission as Adviser Agriculture (2006-2013).Handled formulation and implementation of XI & XII th Plan for Agriculture and Allied Sectors. Superannuated from Ministry of Agriculture in May, 2013. Worked as Principal Consultant with Food &Agricultural organisation (FAO), New Delhi and developed their Country Programme Framework Document (2013). Was associated with DOLR’s World Bank assisted Watershed Management project -Neeranchal as Agricultural Convergence Expert (2013-15) & with IWMI (2013) studied their climate smart village programme for up scaling.
Attended International Climate Change Conferences viz, COP-19 at Warsaw, Poland and COP-21 at Paris, France and COP-22 at Marrakech, Morocco, GACSA2018 at FAO Rome, COP-24 Poland & is actively involved in follow up actions. Chaired international dialogue on Agricultural Extension & SDGs SriLanka in May, 2018 on Agricultural Extension in the Context of SDGs. Presently working as Independent Consultant on (i) Agricultural Extension Reforms, Policy Advocacy, Agricultural HRD, Convergence, piloting extension innovations, etc, (ii)adviser to selected NGOs&corporates,(iii)Member, Expert Committee, NASF, ICAR, (iv) Member, Extension Group, Doubling Farmer Income Committee & (v) as Adjunct Faculty, Extension Division of IARI, New Delhi since 2013-14.
