Biography

Dr. Arjamadutta Sarangi is the current Director of the ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management (ICAR-IIWM). He is a highly accomplished agricultural water management expert, known for his work in hydrologic modeling and the development of decision support systems. He served as a Scientist to Principal Scientist (Soil and Water Conservation Engineering) at the Water Technology Centre, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi from 1997 before assuming the directorship of ICAR-IIWM. 

Dr. Sarangi earned his B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from the College of Agricultural Engineering, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar. He completed his Ph.D. in 1998 from the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
