Biography

Prof. Vaidurya Pratap Sahi is currently serving as the Joint Director: IQAC and Head: Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher: Molecular Cell Biology Lab, Botanical Institute, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Karlsruhe, Germany, (April 2016 – July 2021), Postdoctoral Fellow: Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic (March 2013 – December 2015), Postdoctoral Fellow: Laboratory of Plant development Genetics, PMBBRC,GyeongsangNational University, Jinju, S.Korea (2012 July – January 2013). He completed his PhD (2008 –  2012), Ehime University, Japan, MSc(Ag) Plant Breeding & Genetics (2005 –  2007), Tamil Nadu  Agricultural University,  India

He is involved in various projects such as AICRP Potential Crops (2021 – ), AICRP Wheat (2021 – ), AICRP Kodo Millet (2023 – ) and Genome wide association mapping for dissecting genomic regions conferring drought tolerance in Durum wheat germplasm (UPCAR 2023 – 26). He has published 30+ research articles, 4 Book chapters and 2 books.
